From social media trends, to the cultural happenings around St. Louis, to even fun chat’s like recapping about the Walking Dead season finale, the St. Louis based Twitter chat #STLChat is the place to tune in on Monday night’s. Organized by the St. Louis Social Group and founder Jimmy Alkhouri, this chat started gaining ground when it launched back in January 2011. According to Jimmy, the group was created purely for the good of St. Louis. He wanted to provide a place for people to connect, discover new opportunities, and ultimately build better relationships throughout the St. Louis community. By creating the St. Louis Social Group and hosting #STLChat Monday night’s at 8 PM-CT, Jimmy and the volunteers behind St. Louis Social Group had provided a platform for people from various backgrounds to meet each other and talk about similar interests in the St. Louis area. With technology today, we have plenty of tools to make St. Louis better and enrich our community, but at the end of the day it takes time, dedication, and in the words of my favorite fictional coach “miles and miles of heart.” Jimmy Alkhouri and the volunteers involved with the St. Louis Social Group definitely possess these sought after traits, and are a real force for good in helping create a dialog among St. Louisans of all backgrounds.
